Breakbeat music is a for of music that is played at raves.
This genre is basically a beat with a "break" in the pattern of the snare drums. The common criteria for
music to be defined at breakbeat is clear drums and percussion that is set in 4/4 time. The snare
generally plays on measues 2 and measures 4: There may also be other snare
hits in the measure that create even more complexity. Some sub genres of breakbeat music are breaks (also called breakbeats),
funky breaks, and nu skool breaks.
